Survey Questions (Holly)

We asked students what inspires them and the main thing tat came through was the importance of nature and colour. Currently nature is only really seen in the Printed Textiles studios so it was considered this could be rolled out further across the university. Colour is not currently something that is overly seen within the university as many of the walls are white, however this is for practical reasons such as for displaying work etc. In the comments section the importance of light and windows was also highlighted.

Other comments about what makes a creative environment were having lots of work up around the university for inspiration and being around other people to talk about work and bounce ideas off.

Although a majority of people said that the wayfinding was easy to understand it was found that a large proportion of people found it confusing and boring. The confusing element could be down to the way things are numbered and the amount of information that is on key wayfinding points. In the comments section it was also made clear that some people did not even know it existed, didn't use it , or didn't know it was there.

It was said that the current interior of the university is quite boring and plain. This it was considered is mainly for practical reasons and that the walls etc can be used to put work up on. It was also said in the comments section that there were some interesting installations around the university however there could be more of them and that it was quite minimal but bright.
