Tom Joyes Workshop 

He created Uncertainmedia.com which is a search engine where a term can be typed in and videos around that subject are shown collectively. Through this tool he was looking for a way to represent words visually. It is useful for ideas and giving you starting points that you may not have thought of before.

Design on demand was a performance project that had an open call for briefs. There was then a live stream of them creating the work for the briefs.

Tom did and MA programme called check points and chokepoints which was course abroad after his degree. The course was graphic design for people who do research. For his final project he created a comic book about political issues. The space the work was put in was adapted with crates to create a sense of an office space. People had to climb over the environment to see the work.

The words that we got were Immediate, Conditional, Analysis
Because our words were quite a difficult set of words to combine we looked into different synonyms for the words and definitions to get a better understanding of how they could be combined. 


Immediate
- occurring or done at once; instant.
- nearest in time, relationship, or rank.
- nearest or next to in space.
-(of a relation or action) without an intervening medium or agency; direct. 


Conditional
- subject to one or more conditions or requirements being met.
- (of a clause, phrase, conjunction, or verb form) expressing a condition.
- a sentence containing a conditional clause.
- the conditional mood of a verb, for example should in if I should die 

Analysis


- detailed examination of the elements or structure of something.
- short for psychoanalysis.
- the identification and measurement of the chemical constituents of a substance or specimen.
- the part of mathematics concerned with the theory of functions and the use of limits, continuity, and the operations of calculus.
- short for psychoanalysis.

Our group idea was a test called Immediate Conditional Analysis or ICA. This would be a futuristic scanning test in which people would pay to have a full medical telling them everything to do with their medical future. People would then be able to pay to change aspects of their health so that they live longer. We created the results document that people would receive after taking the medical.
