Another Studio

Another Studio is a London based studio set up by Aimee Furnival. The studio creates homeware and gifts based around the themes of architecture and plants. They produce novelty gifts, architectural models, stationary and homeware items.

Things that I like about Another Studio:

- Many of the designs made by Another Studio are influenced by nature which is a theme within my own work that I want to continue to develop
- The work combines graphical elements with three dimensional outcomes and product design which is something which I have tried to begin to do within my own practice.
- The use of metal to create the designs is an interesting material to use as it is flexible but sturdy and this is something I'd like to try myself
- The interactive element of some of the designs such as the Miniature Planthouses is interesting. The kits come on two dimensional sheets of metal which someone then constructs them self to make the three dimensional design. This I think is a nice concept as a gift as the product then becomes an experience and something that someone has to create making it more personal.
- Products for the gift and homeware markets are potentially areas of interest as this would mean creating products that people would use and that are functional which is an element to some of my work that I enjoy.
