Study Task 4 - Inspiration and Moodboard Research

Finding Inspiration

During the class we discussed how inspiration can come from a range of places and that you can use things readily available to gain inspiration whether this be on the internet, books, or the environment. Being informed about a range of things and taking inspiration form a variety of sources makes design work better. Nothing is original it is about how you can use inspiration and twist it to create something new.

As a group we had to write something / someone inspiring under each of the headers:
Quote
Song
Artist
Sculpture
Recording Artist
Painting
Poet / Poem
Building
Designer
Book
Miscellaneous

From this we were then asked to choose one piece of inspiration, research it and create a visual mood-board in groups.

We chose Daisy Emerson who is an illustrator / signwriter who has been commissioned by numerous large companies such as Facebook and Google. Initially we found it difficult to find much information about her as her website had limited information. However we were able to find some interviews with her which gave us some extra information about her process and practice which would be presented the following lesson.

Key information found about Daisy Emerson
