Self Branding : Title, Pay off and Description considerations
It was very hard to summarise what I was about or what I wanted to be known for because everyone has multiple interests. I decided to go with the idea of making things and enjoying three dimensional design.
My title was kept as my name because obviously I am just one person at the moment. The pay off reflected my interest in physical design.
In the description I wanted to make reference to my approach to design aswell as my interest in the handmade.
Payoff : Maker and Designer
Description: A committed designer with an affinity for precision and a willingness for experimentation. Excited by the handmade and able to work in different dimensions and materials.
This concept will need adjusting however this is a starting point for understanding where I want to go with my self branding. It was said that going forward we should pick an aspect and run with to create ideas rather than trying to encompass too much, by focussing on one aspect this will allow for a stronger concept.
Other peoples pay offs and descriptions:
The use of a pun in the pay off makes this a strong, engaging and witty way of creating a sense that the designer is full of ideas and willing to talk about them with people.
This again has a clever pun which is followed up with a pay off that plays with the concept of combining inspiration and design to create a tasty flavour, This evokes a sense of different flavours that could be created from one person which could be an interesting concept to play about with.
Shuffle is a clever play on the designers second name making it personal, and unique to her.
The use of an adjective or pun seems to create the strongest identities from which multiple visuals could be used to reflect the concept. In my own identity I could use a key word from which my branding is based around.
