Radim Malinic of Brand Nu
Within his creative practice he draws his creativity from a

Inspiration – Colour and its different meanings
Influence – Experiences such as life, food, travel, product

Information – science, psychology etc
You need to question things to go further. If you use the
same things you will create the same things. In order to create something new
and develop further you need to work with different things.
Design is a skill that can be applied to everything. He is interested
in the process of getting from the start to the finish.
Question and look for reasons. The wants/ needs of the
client are not necessarily the same thing so you need to question what you are
creating. How can you make it better and surprise them? Direction in a project
can mean the difference between good, great and amazing.
When you get your first idea do the opposite. Originality is
non-existent but try to avoid clichés. Your first idea should not be your last
idea.
You need to set yourself aside from things such as trend,
fashion and style. Do something different and in your own way.
Explore different things and methods. If you have skills in
other areas it will make you better at what you do as you will have a greater
skill set. Explore things that you are interested in and pay attention to what
you know.
Where does you work fit into the world?
You have to be more than one person and know more than one
thing.
Information brings meaning to your work. Stop looking at
more thinking and reflect by drilling down to the main focus of what you
already have. You can then see which bits have meaning.
If you’ve earnt your career on social media, then you are
doing it wrong. Create something that you can hold and that will last for a
while. Technology can be switched off.
Bring things into the real world and do it for yourself.
Make a difference to people’s lives.
Apps can help if used in the right way but only a few are
useful.
The best things in life are things you have found out
yourself.
A project need to be worthwhile in doing. Create work for
yourself and / or make a difference.
If you want to be a designer be a designer
‘Face a fear everyday’ ‘nothing is impossible’ ‘say yes’
Through the process you can work it out. You don’t have to
know what you are doing or have the skills to do something, this can be learnt.
Keep learning, fixing and breaking. You might find something
new
Question why? What made you question it? This will help
creative block
Side projects allow things to go in different directions
which can help with creative block
Clients are collaborators, they understand the process
better than you
About being able to touch and hold something, make it
physical.
By explaining the concept, it makes it more.
